I hope the Christmas season has invaded your family and everyone is anxiously awaiting Christmas day, but I wanted to remind everyone of the ALL ACCESS Ministries Christmas Mash Bash. The Christmas Mash Bash is a fun way the student ministry celebrates Christmas with an evening of messy games & bizarre activities.
On December 16th at 6:15 be dressed in clothes you will not mind getting a little dirty, and come ready to volunteer for almost anything. We will also be having a white elephant gift exchange so bring a strange gift to give away. You can read the details of a white elephant gift exchange here. We will finish at 8:00.
Important…
A scheduling conflict has occurred and there will be a number of people leaving from DFCC to go serve at the 153 Homeless Ministry on Wednesday December 16th at 6:00 pm. If you are planning on attending that service project and are having your student attend the Mash Bash at DFCC, please make sure arrangements are made for your student to get transportation home. Those attending the service project are not expected to return until 8:45 or later.
Make sure you check back here for pictures on Thur. and Fri.
Merry Christmas!
Greetings,
I wanted to let you know about a great new communication tool we are testing in the student ministry. We will be using “text” messages to help spread the word about AllAccess Ministries and different events. To take part in this service you must subscribe. Subscriptions are free. You will however be charged according to your mobile phone plan for text messages received. If you have unlimited texting than you will be charged nothing extra, others may be charged from $.05 to $.20 per message received. We will use this service weekly, but text messages will not exceed 10 per month.
To subscribe to the different text message list you simply address a text message to 41411 and type the message list code in the body of the message and press send. The different list are outlined below.
Description: Code:
ALL ACCESS Min. General allaccessmin
Jr. High Parents jrhighparents
Jr. High Students jrhighstudents
Sr. High Parents srhighparents
Sr. High Students srhighstudents
Again send the above code in the body of the message to 41411 .
We are asking everyone to subscribe to the All Access Min. general list as that will be the most used to communicate to everyone, but than you may also like to subscribe to the appropriate list based on the age of you student.
This tool will give us the ability to quickly communicate pertinent details to you almost immediately.
If you have any questions please contact me at the church office.
Thanks,
JD
So a few nights ago 3 guys who work with our student ministry came over for dinner and cards. By the end of the night there was a wrestling challenge between two of the guys that spread to all four of us being involved in a little round robin tournament. Here are the pics. Just for your information I went undefeated taking down 2 guys one almost 10 years younger then me and one 60 lbs. heavier. It felt good
What a great week…
Some highlights
1. Johnathan dressed in a briadsmaid dress – hilarious (just the first to my memory, not the most important)
2. The long line of Jr. High boys to see the camp nurse
3. Great music – CloudChase did a great job
4. My friend Brian speaking each night
5. Probable the most skilled and dedicated team I have ever lead. The staff made this week! All of them from the counselers to the cooks, everyone did a great job.
6. See several high school student there serving as support staff excited about doing ministry. I have had 3 conversations with high school students who want more of that! They want to be apart of serving and seeing God us them.
7. Some great production. One staff person who has been with me for 3 years commented that our Primetime evening environment was the best it had ever been. It may be bragging to put that up here, but it was good and who could forget Bubba?
8. Response stations. There was no traditional invitation. There were 6 response stations you could participate in each night. It went over well.
9. Countless examples of life change.
Maybe more later…
Check out some videos. You can also find more by searching Camp Edisto on YouTube.com
